Meet the Team Behind Team Gecko
We’re the team behind the scenes — creative thinkers, proactive doers, designers, crafters, and spreadsheet warriors, all working together to make each kit an experience you deserve.
Glenn
(that’s me!)
I’m the original founder and creator of GeckoRouge, getting things off the ground in the early days before Kimberley and Debbie took the reins. Although I supported the team behind the scenes, I officially rejoined in 2017 to help with production, alongside design and IT. I also managed our small team in Hersham during the pandemic, when demand surged and things got intense. That’s when Alison first joined me to help prep kits — she was a huge help during that busy, unpredictable time. After the pandemic sales surge eased, our Hersham office was closed down and I was very sad to see Alison go.
Fast forward to June 2023, and I’m back at the helm full-time — running the business, designing and charting artwork, managing the website, prepping kits, packing orders, and answering customer questions (especially the tricky ones Alison throws my way — yes, she came back!). If it needs doing, I’m probably doing it — or already have (unless it’s admin-related :). I’m always looking for ways to improve, refine processes, and keep Gecko running as smoothly as possible. And now, as luck would have it, we’re based in the same building Alison manages — which is very handy indeed.
Donald
Donald prepares kits, packs orders, and takes product photos. He works 4–5 hours a day around his children’s school run, and honestly, it always amazes me how much he gets done in that time — though I’d never admit that to him directly. His attention to detail is on another level, and he never hesitates to let me know if something needs fixing (usually something I’ve missed). He’s extremely professional, highly reliable, and brings consistent support to the team. Add in his dry humour and steady presence, and you’ve got a true team player — and an invaluable part of Team Gecko.
Alison
Alison looks after customer service, keeps product listings updated, and handles all things spreadsheets and systems like an absolute pro. She’s highly organised, incredibly dependable, and works part-time around her full-time job — yet still manages to be a constant source of support. Her advice and words of encouragement always seem to show up exactly when they’re needed most. A key part of Team Gecko, and someone I’m genuinely very grateful to know.
Honouring the Gecko Journey
We also want to give a nod to some important faces from Gecko’s past — people who’ve helped shape who we are.
Kimberley
Now runs her own successful entertainment business, Merry Balloons, creating spectacular balloon displays for events across the UK. She’s been featured on TV, taught balloon artists in the U.S.. Her world is now filled with far more colours (some twisted, some air), and very many happy little peoples’ painted faces.
Debbie
Took early retirement due to a health issue. These days she enjoys the quieter things — books, tea, and visiting historical places when she can. I still run ideas, thoughts, and plans by her — and now she gets to offer advice and perspective without having to worry about the changes or the day-to-day implications.
Kimberley and Debbie made a huge impact, and GeckoRouge was able to grow thanks to their years of hard work, creativity, and dedication. Their contributions are deeply appreciated and continue to be part of our foundation.
Adam
Helps when and where he can around other commitments. Always ready to assist with threads and kits, and jumps in on other tasks when needed. He was especially amazing during the office move and continues to offer thoughtful (and sometimes brutally accurate) feedback on new ideas. A steady presence and a big help whenever he’s around.
Gecko is still a family — just a slightly different shape than before. But the creativity, care, and (occasional) chaos behind the scenes? That’s definitely still going strong.
I’m extremely grateful to have Donald and Alison as part of Team Gecko. We’ve also been lucky to work with many incredible team members over the years — each one has helped shape GeckoRouge into what it is today, and their contributions are never forgotten.
