What is Budgie’s Picks?
Budgie’s Picks is a simpler, no-frills way to get a GeckoRouge kit chosen by the community. Designs are voted on by Geckos, and when a favourite gets enough support, Budgie makes it the next Pick.
Each Budgie’s Pick is made to order in small batches. By preparing them together and focusing only on the essentials, we can save time and reduce costs — and pass that saving straight on to you.
What’s Included in a Budgie Kit?
- 🧵 Pre-organised DMC threads and fabric with a 5–6 inch border included
- 🧲 Budgies Pick Needle Minder
- 📄 Printed pattern (optional) or PDF pattern
- 🍬 Packed in a cellophane bag
- 👜 A red Budgie gift bag (sent flat while stocks last)
- 🖼️ A full-colour adhesive cover label included with each kit
Why Budgie’s Picks?
Budgie’s Picks was introduced after we closed the GeckoGold Club, which had been running for over a decade. Rising costs, changes in global shipping and tariffs, and the challenge of managing artist royalties alongside unpredictable voucher use meant the Gold Club was no longer sustainable.
Rather than increase prices or restrict choice, we created Budgie’s Picks: a way for Geckos everywhere to enjoy savings on designs the community has voted for. It’s not about replacing Gold Club, but about offering something fair, accessible, and sustainable for everyone.
